Marvel plans to conclude its current massive "Multiverse Cycle" storyline with a pair of Avengers movies — in much the same way that INFINITY WAR and ENDGAME capped off the studio's first massive cycle.
AVENGERS 5, which will get a more formal title, is the first of the two, with a May 2026 release date. You can read more about AVENGERS 5 here. It will be followed a year later by AVENGERS: SECRET WARS.
Right now, you could call AVENGERS 5 a relatively big mystery, and if that’s the case, then AVENGERS: SECRET WARS is a total secret. We’ve got a title and a logo and nothing else. We do not even know who will direct the movie! Here’s everything we do know about AVENGERS: SECRET WARS.

When Can We See a Trailer for Avengers: Secret Wars?
We probably won't see a trailer for AVENGERS: SECRET WARS for a long time! The movie does not have a director and likely won't go into production for at least a year, unless Marvel tries to film the two Avengers movies back-to-back.
Who Will Direct Avengers: Secret Wars?
We don't know who will direct AVENGERS: SECRET WARS. The first two Avengers movies were directed by Joss Whedon; the third and fourth were directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Right now, AVENGERS 5 does not have a director.
When the two upcoming Avengers movies were first announced, they were due to come out six months apart. The Russos had a year between INFINITY WAR and ENDGAME and the work to do both sounded intense. Having only six months between two Avengers movies seemed impossible. Now that there's more time, perhaps we'll see the same director for both movies.
Will the Russo Brothers Direct Avengers: Secret Wars?
Once again, we don't know. The Russos were very open about their interest in making a SECRET WARS movie in the past. But they have their own thing going now so we would be surprised if they did another Marvel movie so soon. It is impossible to predict one way or the other, however.
Which Heroes Will Be in Avengers: Secret Wars?
This is another question for which we do not have an answer. Since this is either the final or next-to-last movie in Phase Six, and therefore also the end of the Multiverse Saga, we expect that virtually every active MCU character will be involved.
The bigger question is likely to be which characters will not survive this conflict, and which aspects of the multiverse will be gone at the end.
