EVIL DEAD RISE continues the story Sam Raimi started in 1983* by taking the tale in a new direction. Writer/director Lee Cronin moves the action to Los Angeles, where a single mom, her kids, and her sister all have to face Deadites that are admitted into our world following an earthquake. (*Raimi's original THE EVIL DEAD first premiered in 1981 but didn't get a proper release until 1983.)
We got to speak to Lee Cronin as well as Alyssa Sutherland and Lilly Sullivan, who play the two adult sisters at the core of the story. Sutherland in particular gives an unhinged performance as Ellie, the single mom who is possessed by the evil spirits of the dead, and she tells us about going wild on set.
