George Clooney and Brad Pitt created one of the great on-screen partnerships in the OCEAN'S movies. Watching them in each movie felt like seeing two friends hang out for a couple hours. Their camaraderie was genuine. Now they reunite in WOLFS, an action-laced comedy about two "fixers" who are both called in to clean up the same violent mess.
Here's the first trailer for WOLFS, along with everything else we currently know about the movie.
What's the Wolfs Release Date?
Sony Pictures will release WOLFS in movie theaters on September 20, 2024.
Watch the First Wolfs Trailer
This trailer immediately sets up the dynamic between Clooney and Pitt — and, face it, while they are playing characters, that familiar back and forth between the two old friends is exactly what we're here to see. There's plenty here to remind us of the OCEAN'S movies in which they have starred together, from the music and overall look to some of the settings, not to mention the interplay between the actors. And we love it all.
And is one of the last bits, with the slow-motion shot of the kid being flipped up over a car as Pitt watches, a sort of homage to the scene in MEET JOE BLACK where Pitt's character dies? Seems like it could be!
Who's in the Cast of Wolfs?
We've already established that George Clooney and Brad Pitt star in the two primary roles. Alongside that duo are Austin Abrams, as the guy the two fixers are trying to shepherd, Amy Ryan as the woman who calls Clooney's character in, and Poorna Jagannathan.
Wolfs Is From the Director of Tom Holland's Spider-Man Movies
Jon Watts wrote and directed WOLFS as a follow-up to his trio of Spider-Man movies starring Tom Holland. Making movies like SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME has got to take a lot out of a person, so maybe something comparatively small seems like a nice break. And while Apple is the primary backer of this movie, perhaps Watts' history with Spider-Man is how Sony ended up striking a deal to get WOLFS on movie theater screens in September.
Before webbing up with Marvel and Sony, Watts debuted with a little thriller named COP CAR. Now, WOLFS re-teams Watts with Larkin Seiple, the cinematographer who filmed COP CAR.
WOLFS opens on September 20.
